This pot has been a great addition to my cookware collection. I like that it's tall rather than wide - it fits perfectly on the burner. The thick base, with copper, hasn't warped...it sits flat on the burner and allows heat to transfer quickly. The handles, though metal, stay cool. A nice touch is the inside is marked with liquid measures, in half-quart and half-liter increments. The pot and lid are oven safe, so I can use it to cook baked beans all in one pot.
I don't know how the pots were constructed a couple of years ago, but this pot has a nice heavy feel...I can't imagine it being heavier or thicker unless it was cast iron.
