Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Emeril Stainless 7-Piece Cookware SetCustomer Review: Some People...... Summary: 5 Stars
Try turning the heat down when cooking with stainless. You bring the temperature up - not flash fry on the 'blast furnace' setting of your stove and expect things not to stick to ANY stainless pan. Second, you don't need to season stainless - you do that with cast iron. To clean the pan, you just put some water in it and a little liquid dish soap and let it SIMMER. OR you can blame the cookware. Whichever you're used to.
Second, if you don't think this stuff is made by All-Clad, then go to All-Clad's website. You'll see the link to Emerilware right there. Somebody's always gotta be the wise guy and flood these reviews with garbage.
I own 2 sets of these, and numerous All-Clad (proper) cookware. All work just fine if you know how to use them and how to properly conduct online research and match what you want AND know how to use, to what's out there.
A good tip for stainless users: like any stainless, it can "discolor" if you do certain types of cooking. No matter how many times you wash them, they just never look "new"... Well, next time you're at the store, pick up a can of "Bar Keepers Friend" in the cleaning isle. Your stainless will once again shine...
Description of Emeril Stainless 7-Piece Cookware SetMany choose stainless steel cookware for its durability and easy care (as in dishwasher safe). Others are drawn to the fact that it is non-reactive with food, even acidic foods like marinara sauce. However, all must acknowledge that stainless steel is not the greatest conductor of heat, and to circumvent this problem Emerilware stainless has a sandwich in the base of aluminum and copper, both noted for transferring heat evenly and quickly. The see-through lids and ergonomic stay-cool handles make life a bit easier and safer. There's a lot to like here, including the very reasonable price tag. If you are looking to refurbish your kitchen equipment, or are starting out new, Emerilware stainless is an excellent choice and set pricing will give you the most "BAM!" for your buck. Celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse kicks it up another notch with this stainless-steel cookware collection, following the success of his nonstick collection. Bam! This 10-piece set is a lustrous example of the stainless-steel collection, which is made by renowned cookware manufacturer All-Clad. Pots and pans are heavy-gauge, 18/10 stainless steel polished to a mirror finish outside and blessed with a satin finish inside to conceal utensil marks. To distribute heat uniformly and maintain it, there are thick aluminum disks on the bottoms covered in stainless steel so the cookware works on any stovetop, including induction. For elegance, the disks' edges are clad in copper. The set consists of a 2-quart saucepan with lid; a deep, 3-quart casserole pan with lid; a 6-quart stockpot with lid; and a 10-inch fry pan. The pot and pans display Emeril's signature on their cast-stainless-steel handles, which are riveted for strength, have thumb rests, stay cool on the stovetop, and won't be harmed by an oven's highest heat. The pot and pans' lips flare to facilitate dripless pouring. Made of tempered glass, lids allow cooking to be monitored without releasing heat. Stainless-steel bands around their edges prevent chipping and ensure a tight fit. Although Emerilware Stainless cookware is dishwasher-safe, hand washing is recommended. It carries a lifetime warranty against defects. --Fred Brack What's in the Box 2-quart saucepan with lid, 3-quart casserole pan with lid, 6-quart stockpot with lid, 10-inch fry pan
